"Eliza, I can't believe it's been 90 days already. I've set up some time for us to recap." - my boss I can't believe it either. I haven't talked much about my job on social media, or in person, really. As with many innovative companies, there is a decent amount of discretion required when discussing details of roles and responsibilities. But, at a high level, I can say that as a manager of others at Amazon, developing and leading a team is a large focus of my job.
It's actually taken the majority of my time over these first three months. Restructuring, promoting and hiring. It's exhausting but, in the end, I think I have put together a strong team. Now I actually need to focus on other areas of my job - like reviewing our current processes, managing projects and developing stakeholder relationships. I feel behind. Equally tired and excited. There is so much to learn at this company. So many ideas to run down. So much opportunity. I'm just scratching the surface - and looking forward to digging in. I expect that next 90 days to fly by just as fast.
